| 12.00 p.m. | BEUDA (at a height of 338 m). Leaving the church of the town. This is a chapel with a semicircular nave and two semicircular aisles.
Attached to the main façade there is a flight of steps up to the towerbell. We take the road on the left of the church. Few meters further the road is paved. |
| 12.11 a.m. | PLA DEL BOSC. We take the GR2 highway.. |
| 12.27 a.m. | We turn left, leaving the highway to cross the Clot del Pou. |
| 12.42 a.m. | Past the Can Posada there is a forest trail from Segueró. |
| 12.53 a.m. | Crossing. We will go on the GR2. |
| 12.55 a.m. | We continue walking behind Can Noguer, along the GR2. On the way, we will find a majestic building which was one of the early houses in the principality (during the 18th and 19 th centuries. The richest people of this land lived in: el Noguer de Segueró/ el Sobirà de Santa Creu/ and l'Espona de Saderra. When the famous Catalan poet, Jacint Verdaguer was in the Mont, he vised the house Can Noguer several times. The fountain under the track, brings the name of the poet. The Noguer and some farmhouses compose the town of Segueró. |
| 1.31 p.m. | LA ROCA PASTORA’S FOUNTAIN. Below the cliff behind the fountain and a little to the right, there is the Corral del Abad, and old building. We continue along the road. On the right there is the SIERRA DE FINESTRELLES. |
| 1.40 p.m. | SANT LLORENÇ DE SOUS. Old Benedictine monastery, known as Sant Llorenç del Mont in the Middle Ages, which was very important in the the medieval history of Besalú. Nowadays it is in ruins. The church, from the 11 th century, is basilical floor building with three naves (nowadays without vaults). In the main there is the west façade. It is very simple with an arch of keystones. The enclosure is situated in the sothern part of the church, on a lower level and around the cloister’s courtyard. |
| 1.00 p.m. | CAN CAMPMOL. If y ou have time, you can go down and visit the ESGLÈSIA DE SANTA MARIA (Santa Maria’s church) with a single nave, and a semicircular apse in the eastern side. It is decorated with a frieze made up of a series of Lombard arches. The church has been restored recently. If we have few time, we must cross the house and take the road on the left, the one in front of a cypress. We find now a raised area, where we can park the car. Go along a path towards a forest of white pine. |
| 1.10 p.m. | THE CAN CAMPMOL’S FOREST. We find two tracks: we must take the right one. |
| 1.30 p.m. | PEDRÓ DE SANT MACIÀ. We reach a raised area which is a crossing too. The rock is situated on the right, some meters further. There is a forest trail below and another one towards the north. We must continue on this trail.
Past 10 or 12 m, we must turn to the left and we will find a new path again. Formely it was a long track to Lliurona and Bassegoda. |
| 1.40 p.m. | EL PLANELLOT. It is a big pinewood where mushrooms are grown |
| 1.50 p.m. | There is a track, to the right, running to the Casot in half an hour. The Casot de Falgars is the farmhouse where, at the end of 1959, the “maqui” Quico Sabater and friends were hidden and had a confrontation with the Civil Guard. We now continue upwards. |
| 2.00 p.m. | We find lot of holm oaks later. We continue walking towards the north. |
| 3.15 p.m. | PEDRÓ DE SANT MIQUEL. There is a landmark from 1859 that separates two properties different areas. There is the letter F of Falgars; there is also the letter N of Noguer. 10 m further of Pedró de Sant Miquel there is a big pine-tree and a track downwards the Casot. |
| 3.20 p.m. | Close to the track you can find a nest of badgers. Long time ago the people of this area used to eat badger’s meat (meat of the animals.was very appreciated). It is easy to hear the sound of the blackbird, the thrush …(this last one in winter specially). |
| 3.30 p.m. | There are two tracks towards the same place. |
| 3.40 p.m. | L'ALZINA RECLAMADORA (holm oak). We have arrived at the paved highway from Cabanelles upwards the top of the mountain La Mare de Déu del Mont. We continue up the highway. |
| 4.00 p.m. | We must turn to the right (there is a sign that forbids vehicles passing except the ADF autos of Beuda and the neighbours) and take the track towards Falgars. This is a farmhouse from the 18th century with is also a great viewpoint. Near this place there is the CAPILLA DE LA ANUNCIACIÓN (the announcement chapel). Further there is a small building (the thresold from 1798). |
| 4.10 p.m. | FONT DE FALGARS (Fountain of Falgars). It is situated ol the right. It is a perfect place to rest and to make a snack. |
| 4.11 p.m. | ALZINA DE LA SANTÍSSIMA TRINITAT (holm oak of the Holy Trinity). It is on the roadside, to the right. |
| 4.15 p.m. | FORN DE CALÇ (lime kiln). Some meters further the road. |
| 4.25 p.m. | CAMPS DEL BAC (they are also called the Campos de Arriba). They are fields which have worked since long time ago. Once you past these fields, you must walk 100 m up to the track. We leave it later to continue on the path to the right. |
| 4.30 p.m. | BEECH TREE to the right part of the path. |
| 5.00 p.m. | MARE DE DÉU DEL MONT (1.115 m). |
