ROUTE 2
LLIGORDÀ - CAN LLETANIES - STA. MARIA DE PALERA - SANT SEPULCRE DE PALERA - LLIGORDÀ
This is the shortest route for the hikers who wish to walk 2 or 3 km only.
0,00 We leave the church of Lligordà and walk along a short path upwards the Mare de Déu del Mont.
0,10 Approximately 300 m further we reach the house CAN LLETANIES. There is an old wagon track. We must continue 30 m further until a crossing called QUATRE CAMINS.
0,20 Past the QUATRE CAMINS, we turn to the left and continue waling until the church of SANTA MARIA DE PALERA.
0,27 SANTA MARIA DE PALERA. It is a Romanesque church from the 11th century. It is a small building, with a single nave and a vault reinforced by two archs. It has an semicircular apsis which extends the nave.
0,32 We will turn to the right and continue until SANT SEPULCRE DE PALERA. It is one of the most interesting Romanesque buildings in this area. The church was consecrated in 1805. This building and its around (30 steps) was considered and exempt arean and it had the same ecclesiastical privileges than the visitors of Santo Sepulcro de Jerusalén. During years the church was holded by a community of monks.
0,47 On the right of the church Sant Sepulcre de Palera there is a path leading back to the crossing of QUATRE CAMINS. Once here we will turn to the left and go on until CAN LLETANIES.
1,10 Finally we will go down 300 m along the track back to the Iglesia de Lligordà. |
