  Castellfollit de la Roca

Castellfollit de la Roca, a town in the area known as La Garrotxa, built on the top of basaltic cliffs gouged out by the erosion of two rivers. This unique promontory of basalt rock is 1 km long and 50 m wide, crowned by the houses of the village built on the very edge of the cliffs. In the wals of the cliffs it is possible to see five different layers corresponding to different periods of its geological past. Due to its singular and spectacular appearance it has been reproduced frequently in geographical magazines and books.

Distance from BEUDA: 10 km.
