BesalúBesalú is an historical-artistic medieval whole, one of the most well-preserved in Catalonia. It includes the old Iglesia del Monasterio de Sant Pere from the 12th century, It serves to show up the originality of the Iglesia del Sant Vicenç from the XII, where lateral Gothic chapel devoted to the Vera Creu; the façade of the old church Iglesia Hospital de Sant Julià from the 12th century; the house of Cornellà, Gothic building of the Creuera Reial. It stand outs the Jewish Call with the most important building, unique in its genre and the third European building: the Miqvé. The Miqvé or building of Jewish purifying bathts. Besalú is the only area of Jewish ritual baths in the Iberian Peninsula. It is a stone house with a quadrant vault, typical Romanic, from the 12th century. You can arrive at the underground Mikwé by going down a stone stairs to the place of the religious rites.
